Full Version: Counterfeiting error coins happening

Thinking that counterfeiting only meant coins that had high face value or such? Not many would countefeit error coins? Well unfortunately it happens:

I believe all of the error coins currently offered by the seller are not genuine.

Definitely fake! Seems like a fake cast of some sort, but the detail's are terrible.

Also more obvious errors of counterfeiting can be found.

If you look at the holed Netherland Indies coin, the hole would never be in the center of the printed part, but in the center of the coin as a whole. The holes are punched out of the blanc planchets before minting the coin.

Ok, they are counterfeited, andit isn't mentioned in the description, but I still like them, purely for educational purposes. Too bad they are that expensively priced, otherwise I would place a bid on them.

Well, this is definately new.

Clearly fakes. I sent a report to eBay. Hopefully they will stop these auctions.
