Is there a specific catalog or catalogs that is comprehensive for covering German Notgeld, espeically coins?
I have an affinity for Westfalen in general and wattenscheid in particular, German or English references would both do.

^^ is cheaper and references most notes but is more of a check list and general price range / rarity suggestion...it has a lot of pictures in color though.

Cool. Now do any or all of these have the early Notgeld when it was still in the form of coins, mostly aluminum?
Then what about the war/post war tokens in iron and other metals?

All the ones I posted have coins though none have a complete listing I dont think...the one I have which is World Notgeld 1914-1947. And other Local Issue Emergency Monies doesnt have a complete listing...it has 13,000 entries from those dates...there are far more bills than coins of course.

My problem is that I am really interested only in a small area within Westfahlen so any of these books feel like a bit of overkill.

If you are only interested in westfalen then I wouldnt bother with books, there are quite a few websites where you can probably find references to most of them.

Athough this is a website that sells them...its invaluable as a resource as well listing types, catalog numbers and so on...go down the list looking at the state column and it will show many westphalia coinage.

At a show last year there was a guy selling his collecton of those Westfahlen tokens. I guess since they were officially released by the state and not used as money real or "Not" they deserve a slightly different classification. Though they are quite beautiful. Is that a gold one? Thanks for the links, I'm focused on the area of Wattenscheid with maybe Bochum, Essen, Gelsenkirchen included.
