I have a medal signed by Blumenfeld S.F.C. For various reasons (it is from a San Francisco exposition), I thought it could refer to San Francisco Chronicle. Convenient!
Well, Blumenfeld designed other medals for more than one manufacturer, so he doesn't seem to be an in house artist. In 1893 he signed a medal BLUMENFELD P.O.C. In late 1893, he signed one BLUMENFELD S.F.C. Does anyone have guess what the initials might stand for or have a biographic reference for Blumenfeld that might shed some light?
Thanks for any help or ideas.

Sarge First Class is another option, but it doesn't fit the situation or the POC.
