I've heard rumors that at some point there would be 1/10, 1/4, and 1/2 oz. versions of the Gold Buffalo coin.
Anyone have any idea if this is true, and if so, when? I'd love to have a buffalo, but I can't be shelling out $650+ for the whole enchalada....

Well, I read it in
wikipedia(hence "rumor"):

The 2006 coin was only issued in a one ounce version, but it is expected that in 2007, the sizes available for American Eagle gold coins will be offered with the American Buffalo bullion coins.

If that is the case, then my
American Buffalo Type Set will be sans gold.

Well, I found this on the mint website
"During 2006, the American Buffalo Gold Bullion Coins will be available in a one-ounce version only."
The site says nothing about beyond 2006 but the wording would lead to the idea of changes in the future...

CoinWorld recently had an article detailing the new sizes for the Buffalo. 1/10, 1/4, 1/2, 1 oz.
