It's a pretty nice coin - there is some toning to it and it's aUNC I think. Anyways, what is this brownish strip at the reverse? Is it a bad alloy mix?

To me, it looks like rust from an old paper clip which might have held the coin to a label, or something of that nature.

Sometimes this kind of stain on coins is left by a rubber band .
