Dear community hi.gif

I would like to share with you a really nice exemplare of Peter I. Amazing, problem-free coin with iridiscent patina - scarce in this grade.

Greetings smile.gif

Wow that's hot! Thanks for the pictures!

Congratulations! A few scratches on the obverse, but a decent coin nevertheless.

Besides the patina on this coin, can someone explain the cross used on many of these earlier coins - as opposed to the Romanov coat of arms? Thanks.

Also, posted a question about patina and the nice, soft one of this coin? What are general preferences for patina these days? Lighter the better? Again, thanks much.

It's not a cross. It is a monogram consisting of 4 Cyrillic "P"s ("P" for "Peter").

Nice coin, Kisenish!

Interesting enough, that coin design is somewhat similar to the earlier generation of the French franc silver coins.

Thanks a lot, guys! smile.gif In real, the coin is much better than on the scans because one does not see all the scratches, some of them I saw first on the scan, then on the coin smile.gif And really good patina
