LOL ... I wonder if the original owner found it amusing to serve his guests tea, or perhaps vodka, then watch them surreptitiously try to take out the coin after drinking it.
The cup is nice. Poltinas of that era aren't easy to get hold of and I only have one in my collection.
Anyway, nice item! I do not forgive myself for not to buy some years ago one silver plateau (approx 400grams) plated with german reichsmarks 1880-1912, at a silver price...
