Full Version: Crop Marks on Dollar?

I got 2 bills in change that still had crop marks on them... This seems unusual to be because they are usually positioned off the artwork of what you are printing (because they get cut off later) Does anyone know if this is abnormal? And if it is, is it something worth hanging on to? Image is below.

They're unusual, but I've seen them enoungh that I don't consider to be really any different. Well, that's my opinion.

BTW, welcome to coinpeople!

They are alignment marks, these are not uncommon on all printed items, but rather uncommon to see as they usually get cut off.

Yeah... I work at a printing place, so when I saw those on my Dollar, I thought it was strange. You'd think they wouldn't be where they are because the artwork is dead on and the bill is no larger or smaller than others. Thanks for the info though!

The printing is fine, just the cutting went a bit off. I have some older silver certificates in sequential numbers that exhibit the same marks.
