Hello,

I'm new here but not new to the coin world. I used to collect US coinage but then the interests changed and I moved on. Now I'm slowly being sucked back in and particularly interested in Russian commemorative coinage of 1960's - 1991

I used to collect these coins with my dad in the old country and he still has the album but I want a nice set for myself.

I was wondering if there's a good site that sells the gold, platinum and palladium coins?

Welcome to this forum. Your fortunate if you can afford coins like you want. I'll jsut stick to the lowly common, made of copper cents. A few nickels and dimes also.

It's possible to assemble them but because of their scarce mintage for some of them, you might have a difficult time finding them as well as paying a high price for them. You should check out the German site of ebay mentioned above as there is where most of them are being sold. I cannot think of many sellers selling Soviet precious metal coins because of they used to be difficult to sell but right now, they are too expensive to obtain. Good luck with it!

I poked around the net and can see that this is going to be a long and bumpy journey. If it was easy, it wouldn't be fun!

Besides, isn't it half the fun looking for the missing pieces?

I'll keep you guys posted of my progress. I have some leads on some coins but as stated they are not cheap!
