The new £20 banknote featuring the image of economist Adam Smith has been unveiled.

The new Bank of England note - the first to feature a Scot - will be issued in the spring and will gradually replace the current £20 adorned by composer Sir Edward Elgar.

It has a raft of improved anti-counterfeiting measures including a new holographic strip, improvements to the watermark and more ultraviolet features.
