Look in the red box the I And the S look connected by a piece of metal

What happened i wondered and what kind of error is this called??


Any help would be nice

Just looked at the area with my 16x Mag the metal is connecting the letters

And then there is a die gouge and a crack in the same place on the back



Go figure
