I don't know if people on this list know it but you can buy $1,000 of 'junk silver', pre 1965 US silver coins, for the price of silver X 715. There is 715 ounces of silver in $1,000 worth of pre 1965 US silver coins, dimes, quarters, or half-dollars. Right now a bag of silver coins is a little over $8,000.
