I can't believe I missed the discussion of the counterfeited 37.5 rubles wallbash.gif

Thinking that it was an old post and it was discussing about some previously discussed coins, I wasn't paying any attention until Bobh raised it. Sorry Bobh sad.gif

What I personally like to see is that we have a subforum of all of the known common counterfeited coins in a subforum, as well as being much easily seen.

For example, we can have:
1724 - 1 kopek
1724 - ruble
1730 - ruble
1834 - ruble
1914 - Gangut ruble
etc,
all under a subforum called counterfeited coins, and we can put in more detailed analysis of each counterfeited coins.

I know - there are so many counterfeited Russian coins that you can see at least ONE fake per day.

My aim is not only to let people know that there are plenty of counterfeited, but as well as a list of highly counterfeited coins that people can actually search and look at.

I agree that current levels of discussions are very detailed and concise and I am really benfitting from it, but I personally thought it would be nice if we did have a subforum specifically for this.

Any opinions?

Good idea. I would call it "Fake coins, bad sellers" or something of the sort, since not only coins should be exposed and discassed, but sellers of this stuff too.

Uh, consider the legalities of such a subforum, particularly in the USA where everybody sues everybody.

Yes, you are right. I did not consider legal issues that may arise. I know, bad people may strike back.

Think of all the people on RCC undesirously included in a frivolous lawsuit by a grading company back in 2004.

Scottishmoney, I didn't say that we take images from the sellers. I personally have some in my collection and thought of sharing them.

Perhaps some of us who have been bitten very hard can share the stories of why they are not originals.
