I have noticed this as well. If you first click "quote" before reply, the quote button turns red and goes to "-", but your reply will still include a quote.

Here is what I found in 10 minutes of testing:

"Fast Reply" or "Add Reply" does not include a quote in your post.

"Reply" on an individual post includes a quote of this post.

"+ Quote" on one or more posts and "Add Reply" included quotes of one or more selected posts. They call it "multiquote addition". hi.gif

I usually Quote, then edit the quote itself to the essential part!

Correct again. When I hit the Add Reply, no quote.
