I really hope to get one of this large US 1899 Eagle note in solid number. They are really beautiful old notes.

Okay, so My wife actually saved this from circulating any further for me, so I guess it wasn't actually a purchase, but it is the first 2004 US$10 I have ever seen, and I'm keepin' it!




Still have to try to get one in UNC, though - It's harder than I thought!

My bank branch got some a couple weeks ago, so I put away two with consecutive serial numbers in my stash of notes from circulation.

Jordan notes of this series have the date on the back- both AH and AD years.

Parents got 3 $2 back in change from China Town while visiting New York.

Just got this New Zealand 1980s low serial number $1 from my cousin.

around here there seems to have been a good initial supply ... i've easily spent three crisp unc so far.

of the 'new' designs, i like these best.

I haven't seen one in real life yet, but I don't usually have any cash so they may be circulating like crazy here.

Just got in two pair of Japanese Hansatsu notes. One is from 1730, but I don't know the other's date.

Turkey 5 Liras low serial number 0000002, 0000003, 0000005, 0000007.

Where did 4 and 6 go?

Are there dealers that deal with such serial numbers?

Yes, most world banknote dealers buy and sell them. There are also many hardcore collectors and investors who buy them. Solid Numbers banknotes are hot specialized collectors' items. Prices depend on the scarcity of the notes. A good example of scarce solid numbered banknotes are from Guersney. They are scarce and expensive and not easily available for sales. Prices will depend on the year, series, number ( 888888 is the most expensive ) and denomination. Cheap ones are from India, Philippines and Indonesia as there are plenty of them.

Here is what I got from a local dealer today. A scarce pair of 1980s Ireland 1 and 5 pounds solid 111111 and 999999. Hardly come by.

Nice notes. That's an interesting form of collecting. I can imagine they'd be difficult to find.

Philippines 500 Pisos Solids

Yes, I agree on that. I have not seen another piece of solid number from Afghanistan before. Unfortunately it is a 2s and not a 5s but I will still keep it for my collection.

As for the Philippines 500 Piso, I am only interested in matching the AF555555 with my Singapore Ship $2 (Purple) AF555555. Therefore it is not important to have a complete AF set.

Those Ireland solid (1 Pounds and 5 Pounds ) are also quite scarce. Hardly find them around except once in ebay for the 1 Pound.

The Pakistan large denomination RS500 is also quite scarce for a 8s. Solid 8s are mostly sought after by Asian collectors from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Chinese collector from South-East Asia countries.

I like to know when was this Afghanistan 1000 Afghanis issued. From what I gathered from Ron Wise website, there seem to be a 1979 and 1991 issued banknotes. Can I safely conclude that this series was from 1970s to 1990s. Unfortunately, I still have not got hold of Standard Catalogue of World Paper Money. Would appreciate that someone can furnish and confirm the year of issue. This piece has a solid 4000000 serial number. Thanks.

My latest addition, that I am proud to show off anywhere I can.

It is dated 1991. The Afghani's use the solar Hijri calendar. To determine the actual year, take the SH year (1370 on your note) and add 621.

edit to add: It is listed in the SCWPM as P#61c.

61a is dated SH1358 (1979)
61b is dated SH1369 (1990)

Finally got one of these! I refused to pay too much, everyone seems to want $$$ for them, so I had to wait until the right moment. I actually got two of them for the price so I did extra good on it.

A 1944 german 5 mark note From WW2

I am so happy to now have got my most wanted banknote A Macau 10 pataca banknote of the first type (P3 in world paper money). It has been through a lot and has been restored, but what a historic and difficult banknote to have! This banknote purchase also means that I now have all 10 patacas banknotes that has been realeased (all types and years) including one that is not in the WPM. Well I have not all years of the P3 but that would be to much to aim for.
