Allied Irish Banks £5 from 1982, Allied Irish Banks is based in Belfast and was then previously known as Provincial Bank of Ireland. Later on it became First Trust Bank, and they no longer issue £5 notes.

That Allied Irish 5 Pounder is a great looking note.

Just got a package with $5,400 of world notes to sell for another dealer at the FUN show. Many notes that it kills me to have to sell... some high-denomination pre-euro banknotes (borrowed scans)

Got some Dutch notes at the show for my collection. Also got some rare notes to sell.

Just when I have been able to focus myself on coins,.......a cool note pops up! I hope that was real expensive so I will be able to resist going after one!

Those aren't so bad, the whole set would probably cost around $200. That particular note runs at around $10-$15 in UNC... let me know if you want me to get you one for less than face value (pre-euro currency)! ($4.00).

Those are nice, and relatively scarce too I believe, aren't they?. At least I haven't come across them other than in the catalogues - Nice to see them in other than grainy black & white.

So, what is your collection of Czech coins?? A type set?? or does this piece fit into some other specialized set??

Actually I have very few Thought I might test the waters on them to see if I like 'em. So far so good. I might actually try getting some better Czech coins in the future. It's so hard for me to try and pick an area to concentrate on though. My paper money collection is a mish mash of things - I mainly get what is attractive to me, and don't worry too much about the sets. I really like the artwork, and I also enjoy finding the hidden images in UV, microprint, and those hidden within the guilloche and underprint.
As for coins, though, I would like to concentrate more on an area or set or timeframe - right now I have the beginings of the same type of coin collection as I have in paper -and it's not doing much for me.

It is okay for you to collect Czech coins, just stay away from the Paper Money, that will be my domain.

Ha ha! Too late! Banknotes are and always will be my main concern. Don't worry though... I think that there 'just might' be enough Czech notes out there for both of us. I don't think that you can hog 'em all! Though I'd like to see someone try -

Too bad the currency is only used to make change for items costing less than one US dollar. Fortunately, most places where I was took Thai baht also, or it would have been a pain to find US dollars to pay with everywhere.

Very nice, sometime I want to get into large sized USA paper money. So far my daughter is the only owner of a large size note, she has a 1917 silver certificate that also came from Blackhawk.
