This serie replaced the old coins because the number of SSR's grew in 1936. Now there are 11 ribbons on the arms for Russian SFSR, Ukrainian SSR, Belorussian SSR, Georgian SSR, Armenian SSR, Azerbaijan SSR, Kazakh SSR, Kirghiz SSR, Uzbek SSR, Turkmen SSR and Tajik SSR. Coins had to be renewed after WWII because of the newly annexed coutries.
