Thanks!

This is emergency money from Koblenz.

It shows Joseph Görres (1776–1848)
He was born in Koblenz, he was a cirtic
of literature.

This piece is made of iron - after WW-I
there was a shortage of coinage and silver.
(the people hoarded silver money)

It's amazing that after a lost war, with a ruined economy the German towns emitted these pieces of numismatic art even they know that the value will be almost zero after short time... The paper notgeld are also beautiful in 99%...

Although mine isn't worth nearly that much lol....I got it out of the 0.10$ junk bin at my local coin shop hehe. Ten cents seemed to be worth it. bthumbsup.gif

At least definitely wink.gif I like it.

Great buy for 10 cents. I pick them up whenever I come across one usually.

I just think it's interesting how well the type and design style (even the portrait) relates to the art movements of that time period. Correct me if I'm wrong but this was around the time of the Bauhaus school and the DADA movement. This just screams type heavy german graphic design. Which is great if you ask me! yes.gif

I'm quite partial to the cartoonish style ones myself.
