after doing some research I have more questions then answers... prussia wasn't an offical german state until 1701.... could this be a pre prussia private struck piece? I would think that would make it a rare bird.

Brandenburg, silver 18 groscher = 1/4 taler (aka an `orte' or a `tymph') KM 468.

There are two of that same type one with the HS initials as per yours indicating Konigsberg mint and Heinrich Sievertz as Mintmaster from 1679 -85) and the other BA indicating Bastian Altman as Mintmaster from 1685-87).

KM values range from $10 in VG to $60 in EF.
