I bought this many years ago at a Napoleonic Society of America's annual meeting from an antique dealer. Frankly he looked a bit dubious when he claimed it was a sheriff's badge circa 1810. I had a ton of cash in my pocket and the medal pickings were really slim that year; so it came home with me along with a Baker rifle and a Brown Bess bayonet.
Not really exonumia, at least the "numia" part; but it's round! If anyone has any ideas on this thing I'd appreciate hearing from you.
