Designed by Canadians across the country, these twenty five cent coins highlight Canada’s achievements of the past millennium and her vision for the next.

The Millennium programme was incredibly popular.  The RCM produced over 500 million 25 cent coins during 1999 and 2000 to keep up with demand.  In normal years, Canadian demand for 25 cent pieces requires and avaerage of 90 million coins per year.

The artists came from all walks of life;  some had an artistic background, and some simply found a compelling way to express their vision of Canada.  All the coins bear the initials of the artist who designed them, ensuring their millennium achievement will live on for generations to come.
