Assembled by a German company, all coins are BU except Angola which seems not to have any circulating coins

I don't know how many of those countries I have!

That's a nice set. Some company/person went to a lot of trouble putting that together.

Nice indeed. When I first read the topic only, I thought, oh dear, yet another bunch of World Cup commems. But this is much better. Don't know how many people in the US will be interested though. biggrin.gif

Nice sets!
Despite my low interest for soccer I just buy a set of four German 10 euro coins dedicated to FIFA World Cup 2006. I have do it maybe because of silver, or because of crazyness seen here in Munich in these days... bwink.gif

Nobody is crazy here in Germany. Ummm, well ...

(Yeah, it's getting a bit much. But things may well calm down after Tuesday night. Germany in the final is not very likely.)

I still find it somewhat sad that Germany did not issue a commemorative (€2) coin on this occasion. Guess that the silver and gold collector coins helped sponsoring the event, but a coin that is actually in many people's hands and can be used in the entire currency union would have been nice. Oh well.

I think Germany has a very good chance Christian! Alot of people in England are expecting Germany to win, i hope they do.

I was delighted on Saturday when France beat Brazil as well, i hope the French make it into the final too. As for Italy and Portugal there's too many players in those teams throwing themselves around trying to get yellow cards for other players. I was disgusted with Portugal in particular after the game with the Netherlands the other day.

I have to say i think the world cup set is a great idea, but probably only because i was thinking "wouldn't it be an interesting goal [pun intended] to put together a set of 2006 coins from all teams represented", low and behold the very next day i read this thread!

Zero bids so far ... Guess that a couple of days ago such a set would have been a nice gift. Now one could save a lot of money, however - just make a set with coins from the World Cup semifinalists. Euro coins from France, Germany, Italy and Portugal. Duh. biggrin.gif

Cheaper if you wait until the final! wink.gif

Too bad this person didn't go for the "1 currency unit" for each country, it looks like we (the Netherlands) are represented by a 10 euro cent coin and England by a tuppence.....

I'd rather have seen "1 euro" , "1 pound", "1 kroon" etc.

I have to say i would have too!

Well there's only coins from Italy, France and Portugal to get now! I couldn't believe (and i don't think the Germans in the crowd could either) that Italy managed to snag the match with two goals in the last 3 minutes! If it had gone to penalties then i think Germany would have been better off.

I was routing for Germany and it's a pity they went out like that, so close. Although i have to commend Italy for a game well played and they have redeemed themselves in my eyes, they played alot better yesterday and didn't resort to 'yellow' card tactics, although i think the referre sets the tone for that in many ways, if they're card happy refs then players when desperate to get an advantage will start performing show winning dives.

If you wait until tomorrow you'll only have 2 coins to get, come on France!
