article here about some new Malaysian coins being minted. The coins sound like they would be great for getting children interested in numismatics.

Such commemorative coins are fortunately VERY affordable for kids. RM5.50 means it's just 1.50 usd or something. Maybe just a few days of pocket money and a kid can obtain it.
