marianne
I'm thinking VG-8, but this is the first one of these I've seen in person.
thedeadpoint
VG 8 for me too.
Dan769
I'm going to disagree here, and say it's F12. Those 20 center grading standards are a bit different. Nice coin, I hope you did pay VG8 money for it.
Mark Stilson
I'm thinking split grade. with the reverse 12 and obverse 8. But not sure if its the picture. The shield looks too worn to be a 10 or more. The feathers on the reverse look good enough to make a 12+
marianne
I wish that split grading were more common. According to the ANA grading book, at least 3 letters in "Liberty" must be visible for a grade of F-12, but I do think the reverse is in that range. Friends keep bringing me coins that they've had sitting around for years - inherited or from their childhood collections. I don't pretend to know more than the basics, but it's good practice for me and I can at least start them off in the right direction. It was fun to discover this 20 cent piece in an old change purse, buried in corroded Canadian cents.
knowtracks
It would be fun to have friends & neighbors bring bring old coins by to have a look at! Dave
Frank66
Im gonna say VG-10. But what the hell do i know?
I_Am_The_Great_Coinholio
VG-10 and here's why: The feathers show okay detail. The face on the obverse retains the main details. I would have gone with Fine-12 if I could read some of "LIBERTY" but I can't.

Art
I still really want one of those... Me too. I need one for my type set and it'd be great just to have one anyway.
Brandon746b
In my opinion the reverse is in VF condition, and the obverse is in Vg condition. Its weird how none of the letters of liberty are displaied on teh shield
