  1. The 61st Semi-Annual Lakeland, Florida Collectorama Coin and Currency Show will be held October 7-9, 2016 at The Lakeland Center, 701 West. Lime Street, just west of downtown Lakeland, Florida Many new first-time dealers will be attending the show for the first time and the bourse is sold out. Dealers from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, Wisconsin, Texas, etc. All want to do business with you. The Collectorama Show is also sponsoring a Special Young Numismatists lecture and Q&A program starting at 1 P.M. on Saturday, October 8th. There will be several lectures on Numismatics and Hobby Collectibles, and each youngster attending will receive lots of free goodies, as well as get to dip into the Kid's Bucket for a Free Hand Full of Money. Archie (The Hobo) Taylor will anchor the program with a hands-on demonstration of how Hobo Nickels were made, and there will be about a half dozen additional speakers, on a wide range of subjects concerning Coin and Currency Collecting. The Collectorama Show "buys" the Parking Lot so show attendees do not have to pay for parking, and there is a one-time $5.00 Family Registration Fee, that will be waived by bringing this notice to our Public Registration Table. The Host Hotel for Collectorama is The Crestwood Suites, located just off of I-4 at Exit 33, and offer show attendees a room rate of only $74.00. Located in a nice quiet area of Lakeland, there is a Cracker Barrel, Applebees, and Wendys withing walking distance of the hotel. Nice large rooms. Lakeland is located about half way between Orlando and Tampa and has some really wonderful Wild Water Fowl lakes that are well worth taking a stroll around. There are also many Central Florida attractions such as Disney, Busch Gardens, Universal Studios, and others within a 30-40 minute drive from Lakeland. A good time for the whole family.   2. One week until the October 16-18, 2016 Lakeland, Florida Collectorama Coin and Currency Show, at The Lakeland Center. Show looking very strong, plus there will be two other major events in Lakeland that weekend. The huge Zombie Fest out by the Airport (30,000 attendance expected) and the Classic Car Show, around Lake Mirror (35,000 attendance expected). There will be over 600 restored Classic Cars on display. The show promoter has placed several strategic newspaper ads to help bring new potential customers into the show. Both of the other two big events are just far enough away from the Lakeland Center that there should be no parking problems. Make your restaurant reservations right away. The 59th Semi-Annual Collectorama Coin and Currency Show asks all attendees to bring along some "numismatic goodies" to put into the Kid's Bucket. Every youngster, 12 or under, gets a daily dip into the Kid's Bucket for a Free Hand Full of Money, and other hobby supplies. This important project is helping introduce youngsters to all the positive aspects of our great hobby and our business. It certainly does this, and the show expects a whole lot more youngsters coming in. The Lakeland Center is located at 701 West Lime Street, just west of downtown Lakeland, Florida. Mention Collectorama at the Parking Booth and you will receive Free Parking. Bring along this notice and you will receive Free Admission. While primarily a very good Coin and Currency Show, Collectorama has a long tradition of welcoming Collectibles dealers who also bring in all kinds of Neat Collectibles, Paper Americana, Historical Documents, Confederate and Civil War Memorabilia, Medals and Tokens, Jewelry, Watches, Sports Memorabilia, and a wide selection of popular Precious Metals and Bullion.   3. The 58th Lakeland, Florida Collectorama Coin and Currency Show will be held at The Lakeland Center, 701 W. Lime Street, just west of downtown Lakeland. Half way between Tampa and Orlando, a great facility, great security, free parking, free door prizes, and bring this notice for Free Admission to the show. Open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, it is a show for the entire family. Many of the Coin and Currency Dealers save up their Neat Collectibles and bring them to Collectorama. Take the Route 98 South exit from I-4, Route 98 will turn into S. Florida Avenue, near downtown, and The Lakeland Center is just West of downtown, with plenty on signage pointing the way. Lakeland is a neat city, with neat downtown celebrations and parties many weekends, and has some of the best wild water fowl lakes, in easy walking distance. Lots of very good restaurants, and a vibrant downtown area with pubs, antique shops, and nightlife. Plenty of good dealers, good deals, and active buyers and sellers, of everything in Numismatics, Currency, Bullion, Certified Coins, Proof and Mint Sets, Modern Commemoratives, Gold and Silver Eagles, and some really neat Paper Americana and Neat Collectibles. Bring the family. Youngsters 12 or under get a daily dip into the Kid's Bucket for a Free Hand full of Money plus donated supplies and reference material. No telling what the dealers and collectors throw into the bucket for the Kids, there are always some surprises and happy faces. Collectorama Show dealers are very generous to the youngsters. Wear your trading hat, stuff your pockets with cash, and bring along some material you want to sell or trade. Quite a few new dealers will be attending the show for the first time, as well as all our regular dealers, many of which have attended every show. Bring this notice to the show and present it to Registration and get FREE ADMISSION. The show is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be hourly door prizes and every youngster, 12 or under gets a daily dip into the Kid's Bucket for a free hand full of money. Our dealers and guests help keep the Kid's Bucket full all weekend and is an important project to help develop new collectors and dealers for the future. Lakleand is located about half way between Orlando and Tampa. Take Rt. 98 South from I-4, and when Rt. 98 turns East, continue straight on S. Florida Avenue into downtown Lakeland. There are plenty of signs directing you to The Lakeland Center. When you get to the Parking Booth, just mention The Collectorama Show and you will not be charged for parking. Many national and Florida dealers will be in attendance to buy, sell and trade a wide range of rare coins and currency, bullion Gold, Silver and Platinum, Certified Coins, Proof and Mint Sets, Gold and Silver Eagles, Collector Coins, Medals and Tokens, and many different catagories of fun and popular Collectibles and Paper Americana. Bring this notice and present it to Registration for Free Admission and just mention "Collectorama" at the parking booth for Free Parking. The show is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Visiting dealers gain entry to the show's Special Bourse and dealer setup from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday for a $25 (min) donation to Florida Youth Villa. There will be Coin and Currency dealers attending from Wisconson, Illinois, Ohio, Missouri, Texas, Tennessee, Michigan, Georgia and other states, and a well rounded group of Florida Dealers as well. Lakeland is located just off of Florida Interstate I-4 about half way between Orlando and Tampa, and is easily accessable from I-4 via Route 98 South, that then turns into South Florida Avenue, and the downtown Lakeland area. The Lakeland Center is also within walking distance of some of Lakeland's lakes and amazing wild bird sanctuaries. The host hotel is The Terrance Hote (sold out) that features a great 5 Star Restaurant, and is only minutes from the show and close to all the downtown Lakeland restaurants, night spots, and fun activities. Many Coin and Currency dealers from the north attend Lakeland and enjoy the mid-70's warm weather and "hot business" during the show. Demetri Cirillo, of Florida Currency and Coins, in Boca Raton, Florida was vacuuming out a rental van, after returning from the Lakeland, Florida Collectorama Coin and Currency Show, and spotted a large group of U. S. Treasury checks and Money Orders in a trash can at a Boca Raton gas station. Around $780,000.00 of these checks were recovered.
