  1. I needed this piece for my type collection of circulation coins, because this shooting medal from Solothurn (3000 pieces struck) has a very similar design compared to the contemporary circulation coin: The rim of the Solothurn Schützentaler shows an inset lettering: Eidgen. Freischiesen * Solothurn 1855 * The rim of the circulation coin is corrugated.
  2. Thank you for this presentation. jeggy
  3. thanks for sharing. I like coins from the "dark age". Somehow, with this era I receive the most complete pictures when I dream a little about how these old coins moved through the life of the people. Maybe it's because I also like stories from the middle-ages. jeggy
  4. Maybe it's not as expensive as you think: Here are the prices I paid: #1 $50 (...but I was very lucky with this, normally at least much more than triple price in this condition) #2 $20 #3 $7 You see, there is a big price range. Certainly, there are much more expensive Schützentaler...but for instance the bronze type Kantonalschützenfest pieces are very beautiful, huge and not as expensive as they look. jeggy
  5. Some pieces: 1. Eidgenössisches Schützenfest St. Gallen 1874 - 5 Franken Silver 2. Kantonalschützenfest Ebnat-Kappel 1891 - Bronze 3. Albisgütli Kantonalschützenfest Zürich 1898
