  1. I've been researching the Netherlands coins minted in the U.S. during the war and wondered what the acorn privy mark signifies. The answer, according to Jacques Schulman: the Handels-Secretaris (???) of the Dutch Embassy in Washington, DC was related to the Badhill-Thornhill family, whose coat of arms includes acorns. Not the most inspiring explanation, but it's the only one I've found.
  2. Geld van het Koninkrijk is one of the books you helped me buy from a seller in the Netherlands back in 2007, T3. I refer to it often, but it's much easier when you do the translating. Thanks for posting this.
  3. Great to have you back, TG, and now you're across the Bay from me! Have you visited the Old SF Mint yet? I attended a coin show there in February in order to finally tour the place.
  4. We miss you in the Asylum.

  5. Olly olly oxen free! No, wait... IT! You're it! Because I tag you thusly!

  6. ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTVWXYZ

  7. I knew it had to be a remarkable coin to divert you from silver. Truly lovely, Clive - and I still say it looks good enough to eat.
  8. Ian posted a 1591 patagon from Gelders upthread, which saved me from having to post my squashed 1591 Westfriesland ducat.
  9. West Friesland helmeted rijksdaalder, 1596.
  10. I'm still expecting Ian to find a 1607 in his sofa cushions.
  11. Hmmm. I'm not seeing any remarks from the person who left vile comments in my profile.

  12. Who the heckfoo left that comment in my profile? Vile! Truly vile!
