This coin is special because I found it in 2007 after my father had past away. He gave it to me the night before he died. I will always keep this coin.

"Mercury" Dime

10c

1917

$10+

US

This is Old Number One, the coin I have had the longest, the earliest, and nearly only, survivor from my first foray into collecting in the early/mid 1970s. This dime has been in my possession for 40 years now, and there it's going to stay.

1907 Indian Head Cent

1 cent

$110

I have no idea where I purchased this coin. It was quite some time ago.

Indian Head Cents are my favorite coins and this is a beautiful example of the series. Strong strike and great color.

My father gave it to me from his father's collection. It was the first time I ever saw a valuable coin. It ignited my love of coin collecting.

I don't know what to put for this, because I have 2 very favorites.

This is a beautiful proof $20 coin of Canada. The picture isn't good but the coin is beautifully made.

This is a Danish 1 Skilling coin of 1771, it's a newer one in my collection but also very simple and beautiful.

So I would like to get suggestions from you, like a vote to decide which one I should put.

1862 Halfpenny B over R

Halfpenny

1862

£3000-£3500

UK

and Ebay purchase

not an area I normally dabble in, but I do look under 1862 penny category on Ebay frequently (as this also brings up Halfpennies of which there are a few I am after) there was one listed as such in UNC which drew my attention to the variaty, with it being unlisted, this particular coin had ben on BIN for 9 days. listed at £15. spotted the telltale signs of the R under the B, and grabbed it. it is my Favourate because it is just one of those once in a lifetime bargain purchases, especially as this is rarer then the known A B and C die letters.

Where you got it. Bought recently
Why it's special. Because I was born in MA and have wanted one of these for a long, long time. I believe that this was the very first U.S. coin to ever have the word "CENT" on it also.

Type: Draped bust dollar, heraldic eagle reverse

Face value: $1

Year: 1802/1 overdate

Real (retail) value: $1000-1800 depending on which guide you pay attention to.

Country: USA

State: Pennsylvania

Where I got it: York, Pennsylvania at my local coin shop when I was a teen.

Why it's special: This was a dream coin when I was a little kid. I never thought I'd own one. Now I have the half cent to the dollar coin of this style and it really all started since I was able to get this coin.

If you wanted I'm sure we all have a coin that has an interesting story tied to it. Maybe not our favorite but definitely noteworthy.
