DreamFLight911
Bought this token yesterday at a garage sale. All I was told it was an Indian Casino Slot Token. Paid FV $1, and it's silver. Shawnee Nation that's puts it in Indiana I don't think it is. Any opinions?
ccg
I'm not sure but I believe it's a round / private money type issue (like liberty dollars) and not a slot token.
Art1.2
I think there's a whole series of "Dollars" issued by different Indian groups. Many were advertised as 1 oz silver. So I'm guessing it many very well be such.
Scottishmoney
It is not a slot token, these were created as 1 ounce silver rounds and sold by these "tribes". I cannot comment on the Shawnee tribe, don't know a lot about it. But the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma sued the maker of some of these "coins" that had "Cherokee Nation" on them and forced them to stop making and distributing them because they are not a legal entity of the Cherokee Nation. I myself have a collection of the Cherokee Nation coins, the ones from 1979, 1989 and 2006.
