I haven't given my 2014 Numismatic or Photographic goals a bit of thought. Perhaps your thread will spur me to consider there things.

Organize. I guess that's a perpetual thing, but I would like to start arranging pieces that aren't in type sets into themes, perhaps enter some exhibits at shows.

Nice goals ccg. I've never done well at organizing my collection. Best of luck with it and the exhibits.

To be more selective, less of a magpie. That will mean fewer but more expensive acquisitions.

I've tried that goal myself a number of times but have always failed -- I guess shiny things always attract me. Good goal.

Finish my Euro set

I have 2 countries left

Latvia started recently (farewell Lats the US Dollar wil miss you)

Andorra comes out in March

And then there is the KEY, the one coin that will complete it

Sede Vacante (just 1 coin will set you back $70 and up)

It takes quite an effort to do a Euro set. I hope that have a lot of success with this.

Finish my state quarters set (only need USVI) and continue with the presidential dollars and national parks.

Nice goals. I have a bit of work to do on my Presidential dollars too. National Parks also. Dang! I have more work to do than I had realized.

Get rid of every coin I have. Take them all to a bank and just deposit them as if just plain, ordinary coins.

Try imagining the look on people's faces if I really did that. Those that go to banks and requests rolls. Would be fun to see them staring at what they just got if they received my stuff. No, I am not going to do that but it is fun to think about stuff like that.

My Goals actually are to try to complete my #1 Mercury Dime Album in all FSB's. I presently have 12 Mercury Dime Albums. Each one is progressively in higher grades from #1 to #12. Only about 8 more to go with FSB;s.

I find it difficult to have goals when my coin books are in a different city. I collect coins by series and have only a couple of holes left in two of my series. I don't remember exactly which I have left. I do have an excel spreadsheet or two I could consult.

But... I'd like to add one more note to my silver certificate series (the remaining notes cost as much as a few thousand dollars :( ), maybe finish my Peace Dollar series (only one coin left - 1934-S (I think...)), add a few other coins that I am pretty sure I need.

My goal is to simply get back into collecting. I've bought MAYBE 5 coins over the past three years.

Granted I'm getting married this year, I still want to get back into it. I'm content with nice, cheap world coins.

Hah. He said "plan". Like I plan anything. :D

Get the Jeffs back on track, with the specific goal of one early proof. That's really about it. Keep bangin' away at the Jeffersons, and maybe even get started on the Ikes. Grab anything loosely defined as both "neat" and "affordable".

"Goals for collecting" sounds like "fighting for peace" to me. As a hunter i need opportunity, chance and bargain.

However i try to focus on ancient Greek and Roman coins with good Classical or Hellenistic style and less modern issues.

(but the i see the still very attractive Lithuanian and Latvian latest issues, ... )

Yes I can and here is my link and I will add it to my signature line.

I have two showcase set that are at the bottom of the screen and you will need to scroll down.

I also have my coin album which I have ANACS Photo cert and Samples, and out of business holders (the other stuff that PCGS does not let you put into a set.) But I have posted pictures of them on many of the forums.

Thank you for sharing the link. I've been through a few of your sets and part of your album. WOW! I really enjoyed it and will come back to check out some more. Your collection of "rattlers" is really a neat thing. I have a few in my collection and purchased them purposely to have samples of the old slabs. I did run into one that I could not add to my Jefferson Nickel set and PCGS told me I had to return it to get it reslabbed. I kept the old one.
