frankyg
Hello Everyone, I've had this coin for a few years but I've only lately had time to take a proper look at it. It purports to be a George 3rd Half Crown but I am suspicious of it. It is just under 32 mm in diameter but only weighs 9 grammes. It should weigh 14.1 grammes. I would appreciate any views as to it's authenticity and value. Thank you for looking.
YeOldeCollector
Either very, very significant wear or, more likely, a fake. Hard to tell from the photographs.
KoRnholio
Surely a fake if it is that much underweight. Possibly a contemporary counterfeit by the look/wear on it.
