krazykz01
I found a dark colored 1959 nickel in change & put the date into a search engine & learned about this black beauty type. I need more information if anyone can help. What is worth & are all 1959 nickels black beauty types? Thanks in advance!
thedeadpoint
I have never heard of this type. Fascinating! I don't have an answer for you but I hope someone else can help out. Thanks for sharing and teaching me something!
ccg
The big question is whether the piece is mint or near-mint, or if it's well circulated. In the latter case, a color difference could be from the alloy, or from some sort of chemical treatment / damage, and so there likely wouldn't be a premium, if at all. In the former example, there would likely be some value, but this seems to be a somewhat obscure item, so putting a value may be a bit difficult.
