amclau
I have a new design 2008 2p with the obverse and reverse out of alignment by about 60 deg - very noticeable. This has been authenticated by Dr Clancy at the Royal Mint and attributed to a loose die. Unfortunately Dr Clancy is unable to suggest how many of these coins could have been produced. Since one would imagine that a loose die would be spotted quickly it could be that this is a rarity. I wonder if anyone has come across this in the 2p mintage - or any other British coin for that matter.
Art
Sounds like a great find. Even if the mintage is a bit high they'll be hard to find. I'd go after as many as I could get.
